#GirlBoss Series: How To Wake Up Early Every Day

New year, new lifestylebystephanie series. Today I’m starting a new #GirlBoss series of blog posts to motivate you to get the best out of life & become that girl boss that you’ve always wanted to be. I hope these upcoming blog posts help you accomplish your New Year’s goals of becoming a better version of yourself.

So you want to wake up early every single day? It isn’t going to be easy, but trust me, you will feel so good when you are up at 6 am and you can spend the hours doing whatever your heart desires. Normally, I am the only one awake early in the morning so I’m able to meditate, read, or listen to my affirmations. I tried waking up early for years, but for the past 7 months, I’ve been able to wake up really early. Some days I wake up at 5:45 am! You will be able to wake up early too after reading the following tips.

1. Have a really delicious breakfast planned the night before

I don’t know about you guys, but one of my favorite parts about the morning is breakfast. When I go to sleep thinking about my avocado toast with tomatoes & balsamic glaze, I am more likely to not hit the snooze button.

2. Go to bed earlier

Now, I know this might be an obvious tip, but I figured that I would include it. I go to bed at 9 pm-10 pm every single day. It allows me to feel more rested when I wake up in the morning. Honestly, nothing good tends to happen late at night. So, you mine as well just get to bed early.

3. Have A Reason For Waking Up

Do you want to spend some time on self-improvement? Do you want to have time to make a delicious breakfast & not rush? Do you want to be able to work out in the morning? You need to have a purpose for waking up early. If you don’t, then you are more likely to keep sleeping.

4. Set More Than One Alarm

Sometimes I’ll set an alarm for 5:45 and then 6:00 am. I feel like I am able to still “sleep in” a little bit in between 5:45 and 6:00 am. If it takes 3 or 4 alarms to get you to wake up early then set them. It may be the extra push you need to get out of bed.

5. Prepare For The Morning The Night Before

If you are planning to work out then have your workout clothes ready for the night before. If you want to wake up and read then have your book next to your bedside. You’ll go to bed motivated to accomplish the task in the morning.

    I must admit Stephanie I do not like getting up early although I do wake up about 5 to 6 am I just am not motivated to jump out of bed. I find it especially hard on a cold winter morning I like to snuggle under my blankets. However. if I do have a project in mind I will wake up automatically. If I know I have an appointment I wake up. I never set an alarm clock and I have never over slept yet. Thanks for the info enjoy your early mornings.

    I love getting up early and getting the most out of my day, but sometimes I do struggle to get up in the morning. Lately my dog has decided to give me cuddles everyday at 7am when he hears my alarm going off and this making getting up a lil\’ bit easier x

    For the past week or so I\’ve been working on getting used to waking up around 6am, my first alarm goes off at 6.15 and usually that\’s all it takes. I never seem to be able to not start scrolling on my phone though! But that\’s okay, as long as I get out of bed by 6.30! I find that planning my outfit, whether I\’ll be wearing makeup and if so what, helps. Also, I usually turn on the light right away because I absolutely cannot sleep if there\’s light in the room! And coffee, oh my, just knowing I get to have coffee in a few minutes really helps too!

    Great advice, I always set more than one alarm, as a kind of safety net just in case I fall back to sleep. Also I try to plan out outfits I\’m excited to wear, so that I will want to get up and put them on.
