A new season, a new start. When I think about a new season, it inspires to make any changes in my life that I’ve been putting off. Well, I’ve been putting off organizing my space in the summer (let’s be real who wants to be inside organizing when you can be outside soaking up the sun?) & now that Fall has arrived, I’m making it my mission to organize my space. Also, you’re going to be spending more time inside as well. Don’t you want an organized, clean space to hang out in? Let’s get organized together. Keep reading to learn 6 organization tips for Fall.
1. Put away your summer clothes
This may be a bit of an obvious one, but if you leave your summer clothes in your closet, your closet will just be cluttered. Put your summer clothes in a bin, fold them nicely & put that bin under your bed or in a space where you store things.
2. Less is more. De-clutter your space.
You know that cluttered end table that you just throw random things on? It’s time to put that stuff away. I’m guilty of throwing random things on my desk. When I sit down to work on a blog post or work on one of my clients’ accounts for work, I can barely focus because there are so many random things & papers on my desk. Clear the space. Clean, clear space = clear mind.
3. Buy a shoe rack.
If you are looking to organize your space, I highly recommend a shoe rack. It makes it so much easier to store your shoes & see what shoes you own. I used to just throw my shoes in the back of my closet. When I would go to clean my closet, I would find shoes that I didn’t even know I had. Shoe racks eliminate this problem.
4. Go through your clothes & miscellaneous items. If something doesn’t bring you joy, toss it, donate it or try to sell it.
If you haven’t worn a clothing item in a while, it may just be taking up space & not benefiting you at all. Take the time to go through your clothes & your miscellaneous items. You might have a jewelry hanger that you loved in your teens, but you don’t use it anymore. Get rid of it. It’ll help you organize your space.
5. For all the ladies who are reading this post, go through your makeup & throw out expired makeup.
I’m so guilty of holding on to makeup months longer than I should. If you are a makeup lover & have a lot of makeup, it’s hard to keep all of your makeup items organized. If you have makeup items that are months (or years) old, toss it. It’ll reduce your amount of makeup, make it easier to organize & it’ll also prevent any eye infections or any other health risks that come from wearing old makeup.
6. Keep track of when you organized / cleaned in your bullet journal or planner
I love using my bullet journal to keep track of what I organized & when I organized it so that I can look back & see when I need to organize my space again. If you want to kick it up a notch, set a reminder in your phone 2 weeks or month from when you last organized, then you’ll be reminded it’s time to organize your space again. Set it for aΒ SundayΒ or a day where you know you’ll have the time to clean up your space & keep it looking good.

Love the tips! I definitely need to go through my clothes and put summery things away! It always makes things more organized . Thanks for the helpful advice β‘.
I seriously need a shoe rack. It’s out of control I spend way too much time looking for the mate of my shoes lol. Great tips!
One of my favorite things to do when the weather starts to get cooler is switch over my closet!! It feels like such a new start, and then sometimes you get to go shopping after to fill some of the gaps π π
I only own two sets of clothing (I living in the tropics) so tip one is useless for me. The rest are great though, and not just for fall π !
I’m all about the declutter! High five!
I can’t believe summer is actually finished! I put away my summer clothes and replace them with knits and winter jackets. Also, I de-clutter – clothes, make up, accessories and even homeware stuff. It feels fresher and cleaner. Great tips!
You cannot beat a good clear out! It feels so much better both on the mind and the eyes when you’ve done it. I love the idea of getting organised for Fall. It’s been a while since I’ve gone through my make up though, maybe that’s where I should start!
