We live in a world where we are constantly communicating with others whether it be through text or email. We are constantly answering to others, so why not put the phone down, leave your inbox & take some time to indulge in some self-care activities every single morning? Let’s dive into my self-care morning routine.
I have different self-care morning rituals depending on the day of the week. Monday – Friday I have less time for a self-care morning routine, but on the weekends, I can have more time so I can get more done. So let’s break this into two sections: self-care work morning routine & self-care weekend morning routine.
Self-Care Work Morning Routine:
Throw on a fuzzy robe & fuzzy socks or slippers first thing in the morning
I’m normally super chilly when I wake up & roll out of my comfortable, warm bed so throwing on my comfortable robe & fuzzy socks or slippers makes me feel all snuggly & much better about getting out of my bed early in the morning.
Make myself a warm cup of tea
I’m normally not a big coffee drinker, so I like to warm myself a hot cup of tea. When I indulge in my self-care morning routine, I like to sit in my living room & look outside. I like to watch the sunrise or look out into my street. I try to drink my tea mindfully & enjoy every single sip. When I finish my tea, I normally feel refreshed.
Turn on a podcast while I get ready in the morning
Learning is a part of my self-care routine. I enjoy listening to podcasts while I do my makeup & I get dressed. It makes doing the mundane activities such as getting ready so much better. I always feel really inspired after listening to a podcast.
Have a yummy breakfast
If I am treating myself that day, I normally have some eggs with home fries with some avocado toast. I normally eat oatmeal & fruit, but some days I like to treat myself before work.
Take an extra long shower
If I woke up early for my self-care morning routine, I enjoy taking a long shower. It wakes me up & I feel so good after spending an extra couple of minutes in the shower. I usually use my favorite shampoo (that is a little bit more expensive than the others) & conditioner.
Go to work feeling refreshed & pampered!
Bonus tip: don’t check social media or your email during the entire time
Weekend Self-Care Morning Routine:
I absolutely love my weekend self-care morning routine. It is honestly what I look forward to every single weekend. My weekend self-care morning routine has three components: mind, body & soul. When I feel like I’ve taken the time to work on each section, I feel like I have had a successful pamper routine. Let’s jump right into it.
Don’t set an alarm the night before
The best thing about my weekend self-care morning routine is waking up whenever my body wants to wake up. It’s the greatest feeling. My body feels extremely rested & ready for the week ahead.
Stay in bed after you wake up
It’s the weekend so there’s no reason to get out of bed right away. I like to listen to a podcast, read or browse the Internet. I normally choose educational or self-improvement podcasts or blog posts.
Have a delicious breakfast or go out for breakfast
Weekend self-care morning routines call for pancakes, bagels, or breakfast sandwiches. So yum.
Get back into bed after having your delicious breakfast & enjoy watching a show
Sometimes I like to get back into bed after my delicious breakfast & enjoy watching Netflix. Self-care morning routines are usually my lazy mornings. Sometimes your body needs the rest.
Browse on Pinterest & search for inspirational quotes & write them down in a journal
This allows me to have a positive mindset for the upcoming day & my soul is ready for the day ahead.
Start your day feeling like you’ve taken the time to pamper yourself
