Can you believe how fast the year has been flying by? I have these feelings every single year, but for some reason this past month flew by in a blink of an eye.
Nevertheless, I love the feeling of a fresh start and a new month. If I’m organized and I feel ready for the upcoming month, I feel less anxious and I have a more productive month. Keep reading for my routine on how to prepare for the upcoming month:
-
Pick Up A New Notebook – This Notebook Will Be Your Best Friend
In this notebook, I want you to write down a couple of things:
– Your goals for the month
– Your bucket list for the month
– Any recipes you’d like to try this month
– Any important holidays or dates
I promise if you have all of these things written out, you’ll feel like you have a game plan for the upcoming month. If you’re ever bored or unsure what you want to prepare for dinner, you can flip through the notebook and find ideas.
I also want you to have some fun in the notebook and write down the following:
– Fun quotes
– How you feel about the upcoming month
– Your favorite things
– A memory page so you can write down any fun memories during the month
-
Cleaning Time
If you want to really feel like you have a fresh start, you need to clean your place. I recommend changing the sheets of your bed, dusting, organizing, and just making your space feel really fresh and clean. You’ll be really happy you did this at the end of the day and when you’re falling asleep the day before the start of a new month in your clean place.
-
Create a Budget
I highly recommend creating a game plan for your upcoming month and creating a budget. Write down how much income you’ll be making that month and your expenses. Then figure out how much you want to save and how much you want to spend on fun activities. A new month is a great time to reflect on your spending habits and ways to improve.
-
Treat Yourself & Be Grateful
One of the best ways to spend the last day of the month is treating yourself to an at-home spa day with a face mask, hair mask, body oil and a delicious meal. When you’re feeling all relaxed, spend some time to reflect on the past month and feeling grateful. Gratitude is one of the best ways to “re-wire” our brains to focus on the positive.
-
Try A New Morning Routine
If you’re rolling out of bed and rushing out the door in the morning, it may be time to try out a new morning routine this month. Plan out your ideal morning routine. Write down exactly the routine your dream-self would complete every single day. Now try that routine on the first day of the month. If you’re looking to change your life and you’re unhappy with your current situation, a new morning routine might be what you need.

Set Up A Reminder For Personal Development Each Week This Upcoming Month
One of my favorite ways to spend a Sunday is listening to my favorite podcasts, read my favorite blogs, and read a new book. Create a reminder to spend at least 30 minutes every Sunday this upcoming month spending time on personal development. Your life will change.
-
Sign Up For A New Class This Upcoming Month
One of the greatest ways to grow is to learn a new skill. Decide on what skill you want to learn this upcoming month. Then sign up for a class that teaches that skill. For example, I am planning on taking a cooking class in October. I can’t wait to grow my cooking skills and meet new people who are also interested in cooking.

Mentally Decide That This Is Going To Be A Great Month
It’s easy to get wrapped up in the negativity around us. It takes a toll on our happiness and our mindset. If you focus on the negative, you’ll feel unhappy and unfulfilled in life. Make a conscious effort this month on deciding that this upcoming month is going to be amazing. Focus on the positive every single day and you will have a happy, productive month.
